Academy of Natural Science

The girls had MLK Jr day off so we headed into Philadelphia with some friends to visit the Academy of Natural Science. All 4 kids loved the dinosaur skeletons. The girls are studying them in preschool so are very familiar with the T-Rex. And the boys would point at them and shout ROAR! The museum was fairly quiet and the kids loved seeing all the animal displays and Anais even got to pet a live Boa Constrictor.

The Doorknob

One of the more interesting things the boys discovered at the Museum!

Butterfly Exhibit

The museum had a Butterfly Exhibit in a small, very hot and humid room where about 50 or so butterflies just flew around. It was very cool. Of course when I pointed out the large butterfly resting on the wall near Dylan, he promptly smacked it, taking a bit of wing along with him. Thankfully the butterfly flew away seemingly unharmed.

Scarlet Fever!

Ellen and Dylan had Scarlet Fever just after the new year. It wasn't too bad in the end, just a couple days off school for Ellen but Dylan had to do a double round of antibiotics. Anais and Nicolas managed to avoid the infection which amazed us given the shared sippy cups, toothbrushes and yes, Dawn, even chap stick! Ellen managed to guilt us into buying her yet another new friend who she's named "Teddy".
