Stitches

We had a bit of a day today. Anais mysteriously cut her finger - we think on an exposed baseboard nail - and ended up with 3 stitches on her right index finger. Unfortunately Shawn - the doc of the house was out of town - so I had to figure out what to do. Thankfully Jenny was here to watch the boys so I could take Anais to the nearby Urgent Care. Anais was very brave - even eating her pudding with her left hand all by herself!

Ponytail!

The day has finally come. At age 4 1/2, Ellen has finally worn her first ponytail!

Anaispeak

Anais has somehow managed to create her own language. For example, she uses words like "gak gak" for monster/dinosaur/dragon; "Poolytay" for Ellen; and "geelah" for water/juice/fish. I also recently realized that the 2 english words I thought she used are also french words - mama and no. Most of her other words (all of about 10) are in French - pain, encore, papa, la, c'est, qui, etc. Here's a taste of her linguistic skills...

Pizza Night

Every Tuesday we have Pizza Night and the girls help Shawn with the assembly. They have yet to actually eat a full slice of pizza but they do love the crust - as long as there isn't any "yucky" on it. That would be picky with a capital P!

Dance Class

Shawn went to Ellen's dance class on Monday which put a big smile on her face :-)

Sleeping Beauty

I took Ellen to her first theatre production this Sunday. We went to Sleeping Beauty at the Delaware Childrens Theatre. Unfortunately this was supposed to be a father/daughter Valentine's date but Shawn spent the day either in bed with a bowl in his lap thanks to this horrible stomach bug that's hit all but Ellen and I.

On the move

Nicolas is managing to get all over the family room although has officially only moved "forward" one crawl step at a time. He's mastered crawling backwards, sitting down, turning to change direction and crawling backwards once more. Unfortunately he's backed himself into many a corner.
